Although inexperienced in coastal hydrodynamic modeling, I have a background of general modeling (Air dispersion and groundwater). I am planning to use TELEMAC 2D for the first time and was wondering if I could learn it on my own an and use it for a project? How long does it take to learn this model?
Any kind of help and guidance will be appreciated.

Hello
It will take the necessary time to learn. You have to dive into the Telemac ocean and you will see that you will learn swimming very quickly with the help of the community.
The way to start is to use Baxter tutorial which sums up very clearly the differnt steps of a hydrodynamical study. The tutorial can be found on the manual section or simply with google search Baxter+telemac
good luck
