I want to know if there is a way to use adaptive time step in Telemac2d? I mean instead of using the constant time step in the steering file, make the program choosing that by itself and change it during the simulation.

Yes it is possible with the variable time step option, and courant criteria. You have to declare the following in your cas file:
VARIABLE TIME-STEP = YES
DESIRED COURANT NUMBER = 0.8 /(or what you want I believe you can go to 2 or 3)
DURATION = 36000. /or what time you need

I would like to use an adaptive time step in TELEMAC 3D (v7p2r1) but I received an error message : "readCAS: ... could not find the following keyword in the selected dictionary file: VARIABLE TIME STEP".
Does this keyword exist in TELEMAC 3D ? Do I have to use another version of TELEMAC 3D?
