Hi,

I used the example file (wind_txy) and implemented the same to my model spatial-temporally varying wind. But, the results with wind reduces the magnitude of velocity and tidal amplitude as well compared to the results without any wind.
Then I ran the model without any wind data but with the fortran file from the example folder. It gives the similar results (i.e less tidal amplitude and velocity).
What could be the reason for this! How come wind influences the tidal input!!

-What should I give for WIND VELOCITY ALONG X and Y because I defined the model for spatially and temporally varying wind?

-When I use the same value for COEFFICIENT OF WIND INFLUENCE (1.2615E-3) the flow direction was completely wrong (coming from the closed boundary)then I saw the manual and its mentioned to dived by 1000 so I specified the value 1.2615E-6, then the direction seems fine. But why it is given as 1.2615E-3 in the example file? Is it changing depending on the domain or something? which is the right method to apply?

Thanks in advance

-Sathish

Hello Satish
Sorry for this late reply.
It is hard to qnswer to your question in an affirmative way. However, the obtained result could be physically accepted. Wind is a forcing source wich could cause acceleration but also desceleration of the flows.
To be sure that your results are potable, you need absolutely to compare with measurments or any other reference results on which you trust.

with my kind regards
Riadh
