Good morning,

For people that run a simulation with long computation-time (1 month or more), is there a way to generate intermediate selafin files during the simulation (before the simulation end or crash)?

With this intermediary file, this should allow the observer to control that the simulation is well-going. In addition, it is frustrating that we expect several days, then the simulation suddenly crashes and we have to begin with new parameters from the beginning.

I will be aware of solutions and advice to deal with this problem.

Hi
In the temporary directory, you will have the result file from the beginning so you could extract a first part of the result.
You could make a new hot start with different parameters from this result file...

Thank you for the answer, I was indeed expecting some indications about temporary files that i could use.

Could you, please, tell me where I can find the temp paste.

There is a Temp paste that in the same paste than the *.cas file that i used to launch the simulation (C:\...\CasFilename.cas_DateOfThebeginingOfTheSimulation). However, when i enter inside, i remark no file has been modified since the beginning of the simulation (one day ago).

Is this above-mentioned paste the temp paste or is the temp past located in another place?

Inside the temp directory, the result is in the file named T2DRES
On windows, the date is not necessary the right one.
Try to open this file with BK and look the result inside

Good morning,

Just to close this post
Effectively, the files T2DREST2DRES00005-0000* (it is a paralleled simulation) contained a lot of time-steps.
I merged it through the command: 'telemac2d.py -w CasName.cas_Beginning DateOfSimulation --merge CasName.cas'.
It created the IntermediaryResultFile

Actually, the simulation crashed when I was off, but I suppose that windows10 chose to restart... :(

THANKS for the help!
