Hello,

I need to force the model with variable wind in time but not necessarily in space. Looking at the manual this is done by setting the option OPTION FOR WIND=2 and FORMATTED DATA FILE 1 = 'datafilename'.

However, I cannot find in the examples, manual or forum an example of the format of this data file.

The example wind_txy has variable wind in space and time. I could use this as a guidance but it requires programming in fortran which I'm not an expert on and if there is a simpler way of setting the wind variable in time (but not in space) I would prefer to do it that way.

Does anyone have a wind data file that can send me as a example?

Thanks in advance

Jose

Hello Jose
It looks like you are using an old version of Telemac. For new releases (from v7p2) the keyword FORMATTED DATA FILE 1 is repalced by ASCII ATMOSPHERIC DATA FILE.
the wind file should have the following structure
# line of comments
# Time wind_x wind_y
0. 1.5 2.5
3600 1.5 2.0
10000 1.5 2.1

wind_x and wind_y are x and y component of the wind.
If you want to change thing you can edit subroutine meteo.f

I hope this helps
with my best regards

Thank you Riadh, That worked well! I am using version v7p3.

However, a small contribution for a future version of the manual could be to change in page 43 where it mentions FORMATTED DATA FILE 1 and not what you have just indicated ASCII ATMOSPHERIC DATA FILE.

Best regards

Jose
