Hi,
I wanted to now if it's possible to have in every step time of the simulation the informations about
stranded mass, evaporated mass and dissolved mass in the oil spill.
Telemac show them during the simulation but I don't know how to extract them after the simulation
I want to know also how to get the oil spill trajectory in an image etc.
For information I do have Tecplot 2018 R1 and Bluekenue. I opened the data in tecplot , so i can see the video of the simulation but i want the trajectory
Thank you

Yes, you can find the mass information in the .sortie file or the oil displacement file you specified at the case file (ie steering file).

By trajectory, do you mean all locations that oil have traveled at every reporting time step. I have added function to_trajectory_file into my python script (refer to test3 at the end of the script for its usage). That function can export xyz data at every reporting step to a single trajectory file. You can load the generated xyz file to BlueKenue.

Hello sir,
How can I use these useful scripts that you mention above.
Probably putting them in a specific directory?
Thank you

Thank you.
I used the script and it worked. It gives me all the locations oil has travelled during the simulation which is a good thing.
Is there a way to get that information for only one of the particles ? (or the path of every particle in oil)
concerning the mass information i don't know where to find it in the oil displacement file. All it contains is the x and y and the colour

I updated file OilParticle2Pcl.py by adding one function drogues_to_xyz_files, see attached. It writes separate files for each drogue Id.

The script also parses the mass data from displacement file if it exists there. Function write_pcl writes a binary pcl file for BlueKenue to read. That pcl file will include the mass data (if exists).

For mass data, I believe you should see them in the .sortie file. But those are summary for the overall system at each listing time step, and not for each individual drogue. I am wondering which telemac version are you using?

Hello Hailiang,

Please how can I access the .sortie file or do I need to specify it in my steering file?

Regrads,
Chijioke.

Chijioke, the .sortie file is just a dump of screen display during the simulation run. It should be automatically generated and you do not need to specify filename for it in steering file.

Hi,

I'm using Tecplot 360 EX 2015 R1 for visualizing the oil spill results using the Telemac plugin. But I'm not able to change the axis to UTM or Lat/lan when we are visualizing it.

I extract a tidal time series and kept under the domain to show the exact time while playing the animation. But, the time series time (x-axis) in seconds. How do I change it to hours/days??

Regards,
Sathish
