Hello everyone,

I am a beginner on telemac 2d and I need to modelize the flow of a river.

After having created the .slf, .cli and .cas files I tried to run the simulation but I got this error message (Attachments). I tried to solve it by creating a previous result file as it is suggested so I just copied past my .slf file and added a line to indicate it on the .cas file. Anyway, it didn't work so I m a bit lost, if anyone has any idea of how to solve it, it would be great.

I see you are running a 2d model. In that case, you just need to add the following key/value pair to your case file:
PREVIOUS COMPUTATION FILE = 'previous-result-file.slf'

Then the model will use the last time step in the previous computation file to initialize variables (eg water depths, velocities). Hope this helps,

To Complete the answer of Hailiang, In case you do not have a previous computational file and you want to start with a colde start, you can put:
1- COMPUTATION CONTINUED=FALSE (this is the default value, so you can even comment it)
2- INITIAL CONDITION = you have several choices (constant elevation, constant water depth, particular).
Please refer to the user manual for the explanation of all these options.

Thank you very much for your replies, however, although I tried what you advised me, it didn't work and the same error message is displayed ... I tried to "play" with the different KEYS regarding the COMPUTATION CONTINUED but no matter what I do it's always the same message which is displayed... I added my .cas file, maybe it will help you understand where my mistake is ...

As previously mentioned and as you turned on the option "COMPUTATION CONTINUED = YES" in your steering file, you must also provide the "PREVIOUS COMPUTATION FILE = '....' " in which telemac2d will find the variables at the last time step to prescribe your initial conditions. Try to add the keyword in your steering file and let us know what happens.
