Hello every one,

I am doing a 2D flood simulation model for a big domain.
I would like to assign different friction coefficient for two separate period of time (first 3 days of flood and last 2 days of flood), do you have any idea how to do it?
From previous topics I know that the subroutine CORSTR has to be modified, but I did not get how to do it.

NOTE: Friction coefficient in my case varies in space as well and currently I am using it under the geometry file.

Thank you.

Hi
How did you imagine the variation of the friction coefficient in time?

If it change instantaneously, you could run the first part of the simulation with one geometry and make a hotstart with a second geometry file in which only the friction change.
You shouldn't have the friction in the previous computation file...

If the coefficient should change from the first value to the second in a certain time, you should program this change...

Hope this helps
Christophe

Thank you for your reply.

Yes it changes instantaneously at a certain time step.
How to make a hotstart? do you mean that I stop the computation at the moment when coefficient changes and run the rest of computation with another geometry file?

Thank you.

Hi
To make a hotstart, look at the user manual (Previous computation file)

In fact, from the same geometry file, you create 2 geometry file with only the friction coefficient varying.
You run the first part of the simulation with the first geometry file and stop at the moment of change.
You restart with the second geometry and the final result of the first computation.

Kind regards
Christophe
