Hello everyone,

I am modelizing the flow in a river which is delineated by 3 boundaries. I want to prescribe 2 flowrates as boundary condition and one prescribed elevation.

I am using BlueKeanue. I first did my model by imposing 3 prescribed elevation but it turned out that the flowrate at one of the boundaries was much lower than expected. That's why I want to try by imposing a prescribed flowrate at this boundary. Thus, I modified my boundary file .cli on BlueKeanue stating that 2 of the boundaries will be defined by flowrates. Then, in my configuration file, I modified the 2 prescribed flowrates (which were all at 0) to the wanted value, and I left the last one at its prescribed elevation. However, when I run my simulation an error occurs stating that I have an error at the boundaries involved with the flowrates. I attached the .cas files, and the screenshot of the error, as well as the .cli file.

Do you know what it is about ?
thank you for your help.

(sorry but the file and screenshot are in french...)

Hello,

I think you are not setting boundaries conditions properly. Could you please attach your geometry file to see what could be?

Best Regards,
José Andrés.

Hi
According to your cli file, the boundary with imposed discharge is the first one so in your steering file the value are not given in the right order...

Hope this helps

Yes I know, but even when I set an 2 imposed discharges in the steering file it displays the same error...

The message indicate that there is no water on the boundary where you impose discharge so you should correct this problem...
On the steering file, there is no coherence between the prescribed values and the number of the boundary...
1st and 3rd are 4 5 5 so with imposed discharge.
2nd is 5 4 4 so with prescribed elevation
This means in the steering file you should have value for Q at the 1st and 3rd field and you should have a value for SL at the 2nd field

Finally, the discharge on the 3rd boundary is <0 so you pump water...

Christophe

Yes I am sorry I attached the wrong file...the linked steering file is this one. With everything corrected. But it still doesn't work.

Hi
That sounds better but if you have the same message this means the water depth at liquid boundary 3 is 0.
So look into the previous computation file and modify it water depth at this boundary

Christophe

Hi Josh,

It is not attached. You could try using a drive.

On other hand, I see you corrected what Christophe said. There might be an error in your previous computation file. Take a look at it, in order to verify the results you obtained were ok. If not, that would be a possible reason.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,
José Andrés.
