Hi there,
I am new to Telemac2D (version v7p2) and would like to use the parallel mode to speed up the computation time. I am using a Windows 7 PC.
I have referred to the manual (Section: 15. PARALLELISM), and my understanding is that the default setting of Telemac2D is to run with a single processor.
The manual also mentions the parallel input command for Telemac2D: telemac2d.py –s --ncsize=4 txt.cas, where 4 is the number of processors to be used in the simulation.
I ran it, and I waited for a few hours but nothing happened, and when I checked, the temporary file there was no update. However, in the screenshot attached, in the end, it states the file name: out_telemac2d.exe
When I clicked on the file, it opened, a new window and the simulations started. Is this the correct way to run some processors in parallel? I used eight processors; however, I believe there is something I am missing here because it took longer than one processor only.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
M Yousef
