Hi Laurent,

sorry that it took me so long to answer.

Thanks for taking the time to test the file. Right now I am working on a improvement of my mesh to speed up the simulation and get rid of the weird elements. Regarding the river: it is a glacial river with a quit big mouth that's the reason why it looks that strange, do you think this can result in issues?

I do not really understand why and where I should change my boundary from 2 to 4. I guess you mean in the southern part of the model where I enter the tide. If I understand you right you recommend to change the tracer from 2 (closed wall) to 4 (open boundary with free tracer), is that right?

Hi Clemens,

I don't really know the importance of the river on the hydrodynamics and sediment behaviour, nor what you're going to simulate at this location (inflow, sedimentary contribution), but it could be good to refine the mesh in this area.

I'm speaking about the 8th column of your sisyphe boundary conditions file which deals with the bottom elevation conditions on the boundary nodes (LIEBOR).
LIEBOR=2 means that you don't allow bottom evolutions on these nodes.
LIEBOR=4 means that you let the model computing the bottom evolution.
LIEBOR=5 means that you prescribe the bottom evolution.
I advise you to read the section 1.2.2 of sisyphe user manual on this topics! It's the same principle than for telemac2d but for sediment quantities.
In your case, it's rather the river boundary where the issue occurred, but it's the same for the sea boundary (but less problematic because higher depths).

Regards,
Laurent

Hi Laurent,

I got to run the model on my computer. Now I am facing another issue.

I just set up a very simple mesh to test to run the model on a Server with centOS where I installed TELEMAC. I changed all files to Unix endings and made the changes you suggested regarding the boundary condtions.
The server does not face any issues when running the example cases provided for testing the installation. Moreover, the T2D model runs fine on the server both in scalar and parallel. As soon as I add the TOM model it fails to run. It looks like something is wrong with my installation, but I am not sure.
I attach the model files and the std_out both scalar and parallel.
I would appriciate it if you could take a look at it. The boundary file is the same I used earlier.

Regards,
Clemens

Clemens,

First, the modification in the boundary conditions file are valid for sisyphe only.

Second, I see that you're still not using a scalar configuration but a parallel one with one processor. If you have a scalar one compiled on your computers, you can run it with the option -c :
telemac2d.py -c [Name_of_your_scalar/parallel_configuration] T2D.cas
The error message are sometimes easier to understand in scalar mode.

Regarding your issue, the error message says "Attempting to allocate already allocated variable 'fb_cte'". It's an array of the limwac.f subroutine (from tomawac). I guess you're working with the v7p2r0, isn't it? There is a little correction in v7p2r1 that should solve your problem. Can you try with the limwac.f of v7p2r1 please?

Laurent

Laurent,

thanks for the information.
I just wanted to update to v7p3r1, but I get an error during compilation, which is the following.
Error: Symbol 'errmsgandstop' referenced at (1) not found in module 'm_interfaces_nestor'

Since it is connected to nestor I tried to compile without nestor using
system -nestor
in the config file, but the same error shows up.

How could I fix this issue?

Thanks in advance.
- Clemens

Have a look to the following discussion and try inserting the option -cpp to the cmd_obj: line:

I did it with no success.
The post is in the Windows forum, but I use a centOS machine, but I think this should not matter in this case. The error is still the same.

I could compile the model now. Attached is my config file, which I used on the centOS 7 machine.
