What is the third value that TELEMAC shows when a source is added? 6 years 2 weeks ago #31946

Hi,

I'm wondering what is the third value that TELEMAC prints out, in the listing file, when a source is added to the simulation?

I mean, at the beginning of a simulation it shows a screen like this:

sources.png

I'm asking for the value that says: "Located at 4.48 metres"

I'm concerned because if that is the bottom, or even the free surface; that's not supossed to be the value!! Acoording to bluekenue, that point is supossed to be at -0.6 m, even if it were the free surface, I started the simulation with 0 elevation!

And if that is supossed to be the bottom, how to correct it?

Any idea?

Thanks,
JR

Hi,

It means that for the source point location you ask for in your steering file, the model will use the nearest node of your mesh, located at 4.45m of yours (horizontal distance).
If you want to check the bottom for this point, you have to look at the global node 28534 in your geometry file.

Laurent

Thank you so much. I was running in a different version of TELEMAC, where it showed the x and y coordinates of the node, so I was confused with this third value.
