Hello all,
I am running a 2D model of the irish Sea with telemac. i saw in the litterature that the coefficient friction estimated in all the irish sea is never beloww 0.003. However, i used a value of 0.1 which gave me god results. I tried a smaller value but the model crashed... I would like to know if there is a limit of value of the coefficient friction that I could use in Telemac with the Nikuradse law. Can someone help me?
regards

Hello
It should not crash and there is no minimum limit.
However, since Nikuradze law contains Log (depth/ks),Probably, the prblem areaises when ypu have negative water depths. So change your advection schemes or your options in order to have positive water depths.
kind regards
Riadh

Thank you very much for your answer Riadh.
Another question, i would like to explain the choice of the Bottom friction law. However i cant find on internet a file which explain why Nikuradse law is better than an other. Do oyu know where can I find such a file?
Regards
Jonathan
