Dear friends,
I want to simulate distribution of the vertical velocity and temperature of a river, which means I want to simulate the X and Z direction of the river not X and Y direction as usual. Could you tell me can Telemac work on it.And which model should I use.
Best regards

Hi,

If you want to model vertical variations with buoyancy effects you need to use TELEMAC-3D. TELEMAC-2D can only be used as a horizontal 2D model and TELEMAC-3D can only be used as a full 3D solver, meaning you need to model all three directions (unlike OpenFOAM for example, which can be used to model vertical 2D cases). You could however reduce the second horizontal direction to a few mesh elements only in order to reduce the computational cost.

Good luck!

Best regards
