Skip timestep in section output file 5 years 10 months ago #32591

Dear all,

I want to print the simulated discharge, Q in the sections output file so that I can compare between observed and simulated Q.

For the long-term simulation, the size of the section output file becomes too large. How can we skip the timestep so that the file size can be reduced?

For example, I am simulating for a year with dt=1seconds, So the number of data in the sections output file will be 365*24*60*60. which is too big.

My input Q is at daily timesteps as shown in the attached liquid boundaries file. Can anyone suggest, how can I print the Q at only the timestep given in the liquid boundaries file?

Thank you.

Regards,
Saroj

Did you print every time step in the graphic output or in the listing?
If you reduce the printout period I think you will reduce automatically the sections print...

Otherwise, you could look into the subroutine fluxpr_telemac2d.f

Dear Christopher,

Thank you.

In my results file, the graphic printout period=3600 i.e. every one hour.

But still, the section output file prints the flow at every time step of dt=1 seconds.
I haven't checked the subroutine yet.

Dear Christopher,

I didn't consider modifying the listing printout until now. Maybe that will help.

I will try with this option and get back to you.

Thank you very much for your suggestion.

Sincerely,
Saroj

Dear Christopher,

Yes, the change in 'LISTING PRINTOUT PERIOD' will print the outflow discharge in the sections output file only at the given interval.

Thank you for your idea.
