Hello,

I have build the geometry file, boundary condition file and gave TPXO data as input. My study region is a creek surrounded by tidal mudflat but after the simulation the water flow in the study region in such a way that there is no bathymetry present. Please help me in this, I am attaching here my geometry, boundary, cas and result file.

Hi Preeti,

There is no "BOTTOM" variable in your geometry file and Telemac tells you at the beginning of the computation:
FONSTR (BIEF): NO BATHYMETRY IN THE GEOMETRY FILE
AND NO BATHYMETRY FILE. THE BOTTOM
LEVEL IS FIXED TO ZERO BUT STILL
CAN BE MODIFIED IN CORFON.
Rename your "outermesh2_15_03" variable in the geometry file by "BOTTOM", and it should be better. Check also the values of the bathymetry on your boundary nodes with prescribed tide, there are strange values of about 0m while there are -3m next to.
Have a look at the numerous examples also.

And maybe, your boundary with prescribed tide is located to close to your area of interest. You should place it farer, in open sea.

Laurent

Your geographic system seems also to be wrong: with these coordinates and UTM 30N projection, you're in Africa (Mali/Burkina Faso)...

Hi Laurent,

Thank you for your answer.

Since my geometry file is in this projection (UTM 44 North) (as in the x coordinate and y coordinate will lie in my study region). I have tried to change the variable ZONE NUMBER IN GEOGRAPHIC SYSTEM and it only takes value 30. For other values it shows error.

Error message screenshot is attached here.

Preeti

hi
This value couldn't be changed in Fudaa
You should edit the steering file and change it manually

Hi C.Coulet and Laurent,

Yes, I edited and it works seamlessly fine. Thank you very much for quick replies. Glad, to learn Telemac and to have such a forum.

Thank you,

If your geometry file is in UTM 44N, you must have in your steering file:
GEOGRAPHIC SYSTEM = 2
ZONE NUMBER IN GEOGRAPHIC SYSTEM = 44

Even if Fudaa does not allow you to choose this value (I don't know why..), Telemac accepts it without issue. Just edit your steering file and change it manually.

Laurent

But neither UTM 43N, nor UTM 44N seems to correspond to your domain...

Hi Laurent,

My domain has "ZONE NUMBER IN GEOGRAPHIC SYSTEM: 46".
