Hello.
I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between the U,V outputs in TELEMAC2D and the UX, UY outputs from TOMAWAC.
The only thing I can find in the manuals is

TELEMAC2D: U/V: velocity along x/y axis.
TOMAWAC: UX/UY: Component along X/Y axis of the marine flow velocity vector.

I'm running a coupled simulation and to my understanding they should be the same since the two modules are exchanging information at every time step. The results I get are however totally different.

Are they supposed to be different and if so, why? If not, any ideas about what could be wrong with my coupling?

Hi,

Yes, you're right, the values should be the same.
Did you first check the consistence of the "GRAPHIC PRINTOUT PERIOD" in both steering file. It can be tricky if you use different time steps and coupling frequency different than one.

Hope it helps!

Laurent

Thanks! That was it. Mostly I'm just really glad I wasn't misunderstanding the whole thing.
