Dear Community,

I'm a new user and want to try an easy example (square mesh, constant flow with 100m³/s) with telemac.
Unfortunately, it seems as if there was no water in the mesh. The run works, but theres a message of "bad values" when I open my res-file.

Maybe somebody can help me with my problem. The files are attached.

Thanks!
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca

There is no initial condition for your computation.
In fact the computation is running, because you invert the values of prescribed discharge and elevation and then request for 0 m3/s for discharge...
As there is no initial condition, if you request the right discharge the computation will probably crash as the impose discharge needs water on boundary to be computed

Hi all,

i tried to transfer your answer, but I've got more difficulties with this example. Either there is no water in mesh or there is an error that says I should try to prescribe my depth at the beginning. There is no keyword for that, so how can I solve this in the easiest way?
Yet another question: Is it correct that the first boundary condition, I prescribe in the cas-file, is "the last one" in the mesh? So I have to write -100 m³/s for discharge?
My current cas-file is attached.

Thank you in advance!
Regards, Rebecca

Hi
To start with some good basic knowledge, I think you should start by reading the manual carrefully.
There is keyword for initial conditions.
The ordering of boundary depends on the order of the liquid boundaries in the boundary condition file
The sign for discharge just indicate is the water enter (>0) or leave (<0) the domain
