open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

I am trying to use the version Telemac v8p0r3 to couple Telemac2d and TOMAWAC. I have a question concerning the setting of time steps:

So in telemac2d, for finite volume method, the VARIABLE TIME STEP is set to YES, and the time step will be computed based on the DESIRED COURANT NUMBER. (I tried to fix the time step by fixing VARIABLE TIME STEP to NO, and it did not work since in the subroutine CALDT.f, it forces the program to stop if it is set to YES).

Nevertheless, when coupling to TOMAWAC, the TOMAWACtime step should be integer multiple times of the Telemac time step. I am wondering how can I achieve that if the time step in Telemac2D is variable?

Update: I fixed it temporarily by forcing the time step of TOMAWAC to be integer times of the one in TELEMAC in WAC.f. If anyone has a more systematic method, please let me know.

Except if you want to couple at each time step which would be expensive, you can't use variable time step coupled with tomawac, because if time step is variable, by definition during the n time step you are running tomawac you won't have the same time in tomawac and telemac2d.
