Dear all,

ABSCISSAE OF SOURCES/ORDINATES OF SOURCES looks not working in Spherical coordinates (lat and long), while it works well with UTM coordinates.

In my understanding, spherical coordinates will projected to mercator prjection in telemac. This might be the reason why lat/long form of source sbscissae/ordinates is not working.

It is right? and any other better way to add the river discharge by adding water source?

Regards,
Bin

Hello Bin,

As many features with spherical coordinates in TELEMAC-2D or TELEMAC-3D, when using mesh coordinates, they should be given in Mercator, not latitude/longitude as at the time TELEMAC-2D (or TELEMAC-3D) is called, the mesh coordinates are already transformed in Mercator projection.

You can try to run your computation for only one time step and turn RESULT FILE IN LONGITUDE-LATITUDE to NO (not default value). Your result will be in Mercator.

Another easier solution, if you know the global number of the sources where you can put a water source, is to use the GLOBAL NUMBERS OF SOURCE NODES keyword (see the user manual or the reference manual).

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan

Hi Chi-Tuan,

Thank you for your explanation.

The keyword 'GLOBAL NUMBERS OF SOURCE NODES' is much helpful.

Best Regards,
Bin
