hello every one.
I am modeling sediment..
I read Baxter's example but My problem is that I only have depth and flux time series data for the inflow and there's no information at the outflow boundary. (Attached image)

So which switches can I use? How can I define this switches?

STAGE-DISCHARGE CURVES =1;0

PRESCRIBED FLOWRATES =0;150

PRESCRIBED ELEVATIONS =60.43;0

VELOCITY PROFILES =1;5

OPTION FOR LIQUID BOUNDARIES =1;1

INITIAL ELEVATION =100

Any help would be much appreciated.

regards,

Hello,

It is better to find data to prescribe rather than nothing.

Anyway, you can try to use free conditions for your outlet (code 4 for water depth and velocities in your boundary conditions file) and use Thompson conditions for this liquid boundary (code 2 for the corresponding open boundary for the keyword OPTION FOR LIQUID BOUNDARIES.

You can read the TELEMAC-2D user manual to get more information.

Hope this helps,

thank you so much for your answer
My study area is the Caspian Sea and there's no any tidal current.
I think the free surface output of the model is wrong but I do not know what the problem is.
My time series chart is as follows (For 10 days).

What switches do I need to change to make free surface time series chart of the model look like the picture?

Hello,

If you have something to prescribe at your output boundary condition, it may help.
Perhaps the free surface variations are due to wind and/or pressure, I do not know the area you are studying. You may have to take them into account.

Hope this helps,
