Hello,

I'm trying to make a simulation of a flow through a bridge.
In order to doing this, I want to modelize the bridge with these two possibility :
- TUBES DATA FILE
- WEIRS DATA FILE

I already made the weirs data file and my simulation is working but there is no flow during computation.

This is the first time I try to modelize a bridge.
Do you have some tip to give me ? Maybe I missed Something and that's why I Don't have flow during calculation.

I create a simple river :
Length = 100 m
Width = 5 m
Roughness = 0.05
Slope = 1%

My bridge is at lenght = 40m and width (direction of flow) = 2 m

I still have some questions on data file (weirs and tubes) :

Level of the dike represents the height of the dike ? If that's the case, I Don't understand how can we create hole (weirs) to allow the water to cross the "dike".
I mean, with this dike we create a wall but how do we know that water can pass Under this dike ?

Concerning TUBES DATA FILE :
HAU represents the height of the "wall" ?
And Z1 and Z2 represents the thread of water ?

I add my cas.txt file and these two DATA FILES.

Thanks for reading and helping !
Sorry for my English.
Regards,
Guillaume.

Hello Guillaume,

My first tips are:
- use the latest release v8p2r1,
- read the associated manuals and examples for the features you want to model: TELEMAC-2D user manual + TELEMAC-2D validation manual + TELEMAC-2D examples bridge, siphon, weirs. You can get the manuals in $HOMETEL/documentation/telemac2d/user or validation folders or in wiki.opentelemac.org/doku.php?id=documentation_latest

Be careful, some input file formats have changed since release 8.0 (e.g. CULVERTS DATA FILE) so please read carefully the manuals and examples.

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan

Hello Guillaume,

Can you explain couple of things in your weir file:
1. what is level of dyke? you put 6
2. what is flowrate coefficient? you put 0.4
3. How did you create side points 1 and 2?
