Hi,
I am very new to TELEMAC2D and currently working on a tidal stream model in Jakarta, Indonesia. I recently asked for TPXO files and was granted permission to access them. However, it was different from the TPXO7.2 that was previously discussed in this forum several times. instead of a combined one, the TPXO8 and TPXO9 files are provided for one constituent per file with different extensions (and I got confused on which one to use).
I performed a local cutout consisting of multiple constituents using the Tidal Model Driver (TMD) mentioned on the TPXO website. However, after I run my Jakarta model using BlueKenue and TELEMAC v8p2r0, the results are not satisfactory and do not represent tidal movement at all.
I thought the problem was with my mesh, geometry, and boundary condition. So, I tried performing a local multi constituents cutout for Paimpol-Brehat and using the 'tide' examples provided by TELEMAC2D for ES and use the cutout from TMD as a BINARY DATABASE FOR TIDE, using the provided mesh, geometry, and boundary condition file. And it still doesn't work.
Down below, I attached:
1. The files I received from OSU on TPXO data.
2. The steering file for Jakarta
3. The steering file for Paimpol-Brehat (TELEMAC2D tide example)
4. h_paimpol. the tidal cutout from the TPXO9_Atlas (BINARY DATABASE 1 FOR TIDE)
5. uv_paimpol. the tidal cutout from the TPXO9_Atlas (BINARY DATABASE 2 FOR TIDE)
*** The tidal cutout for Jakarta was produced using the same method as the one for Paimpol-Brehat***
6. The Paimpol-Brehat tidal velocity profile after running the model using TELEMAC2D v8p2r0 (post-processing using BlueKenue).
7. The Jakarta tidal velocity profile after running the model using the same version of TELEMAC2D (pre and post-processing using BlueKenue). Only little arrows, do not represent tidal movement at all.
Am I doing this correctly? I don't know whether I used the wrong TPXO file format or is there something I miss, or is there a mistake from the steering file?
Thanks, and I really appreciate any help.
