Hi,

I am using TELEMAC2D v8p0 to start a run of a river and an estuary. Since it is a initialization run I filled all the domain and imposed two kind of boundary conditions, constant flow at the cb of the rivers and sea surface level at the oceanic boundary.

The problem is that in the second timestep the velocities at the nodes close to the river boundaries takes not common values (I attach an image).

I do not know how to solve this, I attach the steering file too.

Thanks!
Lucas.

Hi Lucas,

do these high velocities cause problems to the model to converge to a stable solution? If not I would not worry about what happens in the 2nd time step.

If it does, you could try to have increase flow at the upstream boundary from 0 to the value you need for your initial condition .

Hope that helps,

Patrick

Hello Lucas,

I opened one week ago a subject about this king of simulation of a river in a lake. I have at beginning the same problem than you, you can follow this link and see the different answer and development that can help you :

www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/17-...er-delta-environment

To answer you, you have to let the system stabilize and re-use when stabilise as a hotstart. You can re-use my files for hotstart following this link :

www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/16-...to-initiate-hotstart

Best regards,
Alexandre
