Domain fiction doesn't work with FVM. 2 years 2 months ago #41065

Hi everyone,

I was using the finite element method to conduct my studies. This model is uniform with two well-defined boundary conditions and varying friction parameters along the river. I'm configuring this same model for the finite volumes method.

However, the model is returning the error like the attached image.

Is opentelemac capable of using friction zones with the finite volume method? If so, could someone help me overcome this mistake?

All files are attached.

PS.: Version of opentelemac is 8p3r1.

Thanks a lot for your precious help,

Hi
Steering file not available...
Which friction law did you choose?
according to the code (source_moment.f in telemac2d), this print occurs when the law indicated in the steering file is <0 or >5...

Christophe

Hello,

There is a fix pushed in the main a few months ago concerning FRICTION DATA FILE = YES and Finite Volume method:
gitlab.pam-retd.fr/otm/telemac-mascaret/-/issues/794

It is already available in the main and will be available for next release v8p4.

See enclosed file.

Can you confirm that it solves your issue please?
