Hi,

I have been using T3D for the past few years, but now due to the computational cost of 3D modelling of large domains, I moved to use T2D.

I'm interested in running T2D in FV method, so I tried that in the latest version v8p4r0. For some reasons, it gives me odd results compared to the FE method, which looks more realistic.

I have attached both steering files for the FE and FV cases as well as a snapshot of the results comparison.

Would you please have a look and let me know if I'm doing anything wrong, and if not what is the reason for those unrealistic results when using FV method?

Thanks,
Mohammed

Hello Mohammed,

I am not a Finite Volume method specialist in TELEMAC-2D, but can you try to deactivate diffusion with DIFFUSION OF VELOCITY = NO and see if you still get such results?

You still keep many keywords only used with Finite Elements method in your FV steering file. They should not have any effect, but you can try to start with less keywords, e.g. the one from tide examples + what you want to add step by step.
