I am running a model with Telemac internally coupled to sisyphe. I have run in about three times each time the duration of the run increases. However at the end of this fourth run the programme gives an error when trying to create the results files. I have attached the command prompt log below. I have no idea what is causing the error.

Hello,

I see no error, this must be due to the size of the file ? What you can do is looking at the temporary folder generated during the run (it is perhaps not destroyed because there is an error) and look if there is the file SISRES, and what is its size. If it is there you can use it and look at the results.
Other hint : the results file sres_400.res already exists and has been protected against writing ?

With best regards,

Jean-Michel Hervouet

Hi
As Jean-Michel said, it's probably a problem of filesize. On windows, at the end of the run, there is a copy of result file and you mus know that windows is not able to copy a file of more than 2Gb.
So, if this problem occurs, you should reduce the size of the file (period of graphic printout for example) or launch the simulation with the -t option (this option didn't delete the temporary directory use for the simulation) so you could had an access to sisres file. You could move it but not copy it.

If the filesize is not the reason check the available space on your disk. as telemac makes full copy of result file, you should have enough space.

Hope this helps
Christophe

Yea I believe it was the file size that was the issue. I have increased my time step and resolved the problem.

Thank you.

I have am currently running my telemac2D module coupled with Sisyphe with a time step of 0.1(s).

I have once again received the same error for the sisyphe results file indicating that this file is too large. However when I increase the time step to 0.2(s) the calculation becomes unstable and gives ridiculously large values. Is there any way of reducing the size of my results file other than rebuilding my mesh?

Changing the mesh for this particular case would require me to change it all of my other previously completed scenarios in order to allow for comparison

Hi
Instead changing the time step (which as an imapct on the stability of computation) you could also increase the GRAPHIC PRINTOUT PERIOD
By default the value is 1 so you write every time step in your result file. But with a small time step like you have, you could change the value to 10 for exemple and the you write the result every second and you will divide the result size by 10.

Hope this help
