Implementing a force inside the domain in Telemac 12 years 11 months ago #3342

Hi there,

I have recently started using Telemac, and I wish to apply a force to the flow at a few specified nodes in the domain, however I am not exactly sure how to go about this. The force will be calculated according to the flow speed at those nodes. I have so far been using FUDAA and I think that there is no way in which to apply such a condition within FUDAA?

I have been thinking that perhaps I need to modify the prosou.f file to include an applied force in the momentum equation, but I am not yet confident with what is stored in the vectors and how to only apply the force to a small number of specified nodes.

I would appreciate any comments regarding my approach and/or advice on what and how I should be modifying.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Yes you can adapt prosou.f to introduce such force. However, If you want to apply it only in a limited number of points, you can use subroutine dragfo.f which gives you exacly what you need. It is used for the introduction of a drag force around of a vertical structure.

My best regrads,
Riadh
