how do I stop a simulation midway? 12 years 9 months ago #3647

My simulation has been running for one day and I realized that I set the wrong number of time steps.....I initially had a time step of 1s then I changed it to 10 but forgot to reduce the max number of timesteps so my simulation will run 10x longer!

is there any way of stopping this simulation without losing what has already been calculated?
thanks

easy ... ;) you can just crash your simulation ... Ctrl-C will do.

More seriously, all the files are saved within the temporary directory, so if you need to recover your TELEMAC-2D result file for instance, it is named T2DRES ..., which is a standard SELAFIN file, which you can read in Blue Kenue for instance.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sebastien! You're a life saver. I thought I was going to have to re-run everything!

Hi

On Linux/UNIX platform, the perl script automatically create a signalxxx file on the directory where the simulation is launched.
If you execute this program (this is an executable file), the simulation is cleanly kill.
But this capacity doesn't exist on windows ...
