Hello,

i am starting on BK and i have to generate a mesh pour channel.
I like to impose several line on the bed of the channel and also a few lines tu define the sides embankments.

1st pic: my line which i want to use and the closedline of this channel part
mesh 1: the set of lines are in hardlines and softlines, resample of coledline is on, default length = 10 m, cloedline in outline.
ideal: the ideal type of mesh all along the channel.

Have you any advice or comments on the method?

Thanks for your attention, i'm also interet on a tutorial or an explain doc about creating meshs on BlueKenue

Best regards,
Lucho

Hi Lucho,

Have you read section 2.2 "Mesh Editing and Generation" starting on page 135 that describes the channel mesher?

Yes, i already read this part and also the part concerning general mesher, 2.2.3 T3 mesh genetor. My problem in T3 channel mesher is to impose several lines in the bed of the channel.

Bests regards,
Lucho

Hi Lucho,

The channel mesher only allows you to supply the left and right banks and optionally a thalweg.
It then uses the "CrossChannelNodeCount" parameter to automatically generate intermediate lines.
There is currently no mechanism for supplying additional lines between the banks.
Perhaps in a future version...

Luckily there is a workaround.
You can generate multiple channel meshes that share common "banks".
You MUST ensure that your banks are digitized in the same direction.

If you then supply these channel meshes as sub-meshes to a global mesher you can achieve the result you desire.

I've attached 2 channel mesh (t3c) files and 1 global mesh (t3m) file that illustrates the technique.

Thanks a lots,
your solution looks very interesting.
I keep working on, i'll give you a feedback on the final mesh option.
