there is an option in TELEMAC where one can ignore the diffusion of a tracer (DIFFUSION OF TRACERS : NO), that should give the same result if the diffusion coefficient set to be zero (COEFFICIENT FOR DIFFUSION OF TRACERS: 0). However when I tried it, I get totally different results even for very simple cases (when I set the DIFFUSION OF TRACERS as NO, I get numerical errors).

By the way, I am modeling the salinity transfer at estuary, so my tracer is the salinity.

Can you explain what type of "numerical errors" you got (if you can quote or send the listing output file it could help). Moreover, can you also send the steering file, just to check the other keywords you use, please?

Hi,

First of all I am getting different results, that means when I deactivate the diffusion of the tracer gives results different from activating it and giving a diffusion coefficient of zero, and this must not happen.

Secondly, when I deactivate the diffusion of the tracer I get unexpected and unrealistic results, for example the maximum salinity in the domain at the initial condition was 35 and after 2 hours I get a concentration of 1*10E15 and also a negative value of -3*10E07.

I do have understood your first claim on the differences between results, but to investigate, I need to check your steering file and your Fortran file if you have changed some standard subroutines.
