open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Dear all,

when adding salinity as a tracer you need to specify the units. When declaring it as stated in the manual: kg/m3 , telemac gives me an error message 'line: 55 ERROR: unexpected character in a string without quotes' and will not start the simulation. The strange thing is that when I leave the character "/" out of the unit it does work. (to be complete: I filled in all 32 characters of the tracer name so the error should not be this)

The question is: does Telemac use this units somewhere in the code or is it important to have this right or is this just a name given?
I want to make use of the density effects keyword and wandered if this was important.

The units is just here for the post-processing.
As I know, it's not take in account in the code.

The reason is that / is understodd as a comment in Damocles, the software that reads the parameter files. I am not sure but it could be that // is expected, anyway it is just for post-processing, as Christophe said.

thanks for the very quick response. The error must be due to the kind of computer because it works fine on my laptop and on the cluster, but fails on the laptop of my colleage.
But as it has no impact on the calculations, we can forget about it. Thanks
