open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

I just got Telemac-2D installed (version 5.1) at work and after running a simulation that I know works (I've ran it at home on version 6.1), I get the following message : "A la ligne 83 ... le mot cle suivant : TRAITEMENT DES HAUTEURS NEGATIVES" est inconnu (is unknown). So it added a backslash before it to see what happens and now I get the attached message. Could it all be due to the fact that I am using an older version ?

I'm not sure that you can re-run a model with version 5.1. I can not understand why are you using a so old version at work and v6p1 version at home.
From 5.1 to 6.1, there are so many keywords that have desappeared and a lot a new added others. You can refresh the old model by running it with a new version (the most recent one is the v6p2), However it is strongly non recommanded to go on with the use of very old versions.

Eventually, to comment a keyword, you have to use a slash (/) and not a backslash (\).

the thing is that at home I could easily download the most recent version but at work (a very large company), I could only get the 5.1 version installed for now. If you tell me that getting the most recent version should resolve all my problems, I will the then the IT department to install me the newest version, which should that a while ...

BTW, my mistake on the / vs \ ...

Hi Matin

For sure you will resolve a lot of problems when you upgrade from 5.1 to 6.2, you will at least take advantage from the developments of more than 10 years which implies large improvements from numerical point of view but also from the software aspects as well.

Do you know if it is possible to use Telemac 2D v6p0 with python instead or perl ?

It is possible. Two options:

1) If you already have an installtion of v6p2, just add a new configuration to your systel.cfg (copy one that works for you already) and change the root and the version number. Then you need use -c name_of_config in your commande line when executing etc.

2) otherwise copy the pytel directory from the v6p2 into the v6p0 install. And follow the instructions just as you would for v6p2.
