Inflow hydrograph boundary condition error 11 years 11 months ago #6514

Hi all,

Is it possible to define an inflow hydrograph to a boundary other than boundary #1?

When TELEMAC-2D reads my input data, it recognizes the discharge boundary nodes (e.g. 455) as boundary #2 and proceeds with the simulation utilizing the constant discharge value and ignores the hydrograph values.

Are there any required flags other than, LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE ='xx.liq' in order to use inflow hydrographs?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Chris

Hello,

The use of the liquid boundaries file is triggered by the keywords :

PRESCRIBED DISCHARGES, PRESCRIBED ELEVATIONS, etc.

If they are not present the program will take the values in the BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE (and then they are constant).

For the keywords like PRESCRIBED DISCHARGES you must give as many numbers as you have liquid boundaries (e.g. the second number will be boundary 2). Then the values given in the LIQUID BOUNDARIES FILE, if any, will overwrite the prescribed values. For example :

PRESCRIBED DISCHARGES : 0.;80.

will put a discharge of 80 m3/s at boundary 2, but will be replaced by the values in the liquid boundaries file if there is a column Q(2). In this latter case the program will print on the listing what value of Q(2) is taken for a given time step.

With best regards,
