Dear all,
in the parameter settings for a Telemac2D project, I found 'Breach' parameter. It is supposed to model dike breach. I want to use this function for my work; however, I do not know how! Can anyone help with that, particularily, how to creat the 'breach data file'?
Thanking you in advance for your help.

Hello,

Yes, it has been done by Christophe C., but it seems that it is not documented yet (Christophe am I right ?). Basically a breach formation is considered as a moving bottom, and you can change the bottom from a time step to another, the depth is kept and through the subsequent free surface modification (Z=depth + bottom is not kept and will be recomputed with the new bottom) will then re-adapt to the new situation. You can program the change in utimp_telemac2d.f, which is done for users and is called at every time step, but well it would be better to have the documentation.

Regards,

JMH

Hi,

A quick reply to say that there is a validation case with a breach data file which contains the information on how to define the parameters for the 3 breaching options available.
However, this is not straight-forward. I know that a paper writen by the CETMEF describes into details how this new function works, but I don't know if it is available on the web.

It would then be great if this function could be documented...

Hi

As it was already mentionned by pilou1253, there is a dedicated test case which exist.
There was a specific point on this functionnality in the release document of the version 6.2 (doc version) which seems to be not integrated in the dedicated feature log page (Jean Michel, i'm quiet sure to send you this file).
So i will add it immediatly

Regards
Christophe

Hello,

The test case named 044_breach is an example. You can download the test cases through svn.
