Hi everyone,

I was running an channel intake modeling case similar to the one which I have earlier mentioned in my previous post www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/16-...deling-in-telemac-2d , the previous case completed successfully without any error.

the error which the simulation gives is

BALANCE OF WATER VOLUME
VOLUME IN THE DOMAIN : 0.1950622E+11 M3
FLUX BOUNDARY 1: -0.000000 M3/S ( >0 : ENTERING <0 : EXITING )
FLUX BOUNDARY 2: 1180926. M3/S ( >0 : ENTERING <0 : EXITING )
RELATIVE ERROR IN VOLUME AT T = 900.0 S : -0.1509396E-15
DEBIMP : PROBLEM ON BOUNDARY NUMBER 1
GIVE A VELOCITY PROFILE
IN THE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FILE
OR CHECK THE WATER DEPTHS

PLANTE: PROGRAM STOPPED AFTER AN ERROR

what could be the cause of the error? The new case which I am running has cell dimensions of 2.5 m at the intake channel, and 500 m at the outer open boundaries.

I have attached the boundary file, the liquid boundary file, the case file and the simulation log file.

Thanks,
Gourish

Hi,

There was a mistake in the computational mesh.

The depths at intake boundary nodes were more that 5 m. I have changed the depths to -1.5 m, which is the same depth as the intake channel.
The simulation is now running properly without any error.

Gourish
