Hi,

I want to model a surge modeling case where I want to study the inundation of a coastal area due to a cyclone crossing a coast.
As per Telemac documentation Telemac can be used to model coastal surges.
Is there any method or program where I can simulate cyclonic winds, which can be further imposed for the surge model run in Telemac.

It can be also a good idea in future if possible for Telemac to have a cyclonic wind generation module.

On searching through the internet I found the following
the following two links
docs.lib.noaa.gov/rescue/mwr/094/mwr-094-06-0379.pdf
docs.lib.noaa.gov/rescue/mwr/095/mwr-095-11-0740.pdf

which I think may help in formulation of a method to generate cyclonic winds.

The discussion at www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/16-.../5706-wind-telemac2d gives enough information on how to impose winds to a TELEMAC 2D simulation.

Gourish

Hello,

Just for the update, we are currently implementing a cyclone model in TELEMAC, which will be in the next version. Any news / publications on the subject would be welcomed.

Sébastien.
