Hello:

I am using FV-method to simulate the water table of a river with bridges
(6 m width). The river bed unter the bridges has been constructed normally with points and elements, just like other parts of the grid.

Can Telemac-2D simulate the pressure flow at bridges with the water table higher than the underside of the bridge? I could not find any function in Telemac-2D to define the ceilings (unterside of the bridge).

The another question is how to simulate the overflow if the water table is higher than the upside of the bridge (e.g. street)? I think, perhaps one of the posssibilities is to use weirs. But weirs can only be constructed at the grid boundary, not in the grid. Because the bridges are constructed with elements, I can not cut the river bed to creat a boundary at this point. Do you have any good suggestions?

best regards

Hi,

I think the CULVERTS option in telemac may be a solution to your requirement.

Hello,

Since V6P2 release, you can include a bridge in your Telemac model. It allows both kind of flows, free surface and internal flows(when free surface reaches the lower point of the brigde). The validation case 039_bridge gives you the way to implement such structure.

Whith my best regards,
