Hello,

Well basically you can do any passive tracer, and you can add decay laws, or even source terms that would link tracers, or use Delwaq as a post-processing tool for water quality. Salinity and thermal studies are preferably done in 3D to take into account the buoyancy effects.

JMH

Hello JM,

I 3D modeled few weeks ago a chlorination tank using ANSYS FLUENT where I described the decay of Chlorine using a C code. Is it possible to do the same using TELEMAC2D/3D and how can I define the decay function?

Thank you,
Aissa

Hello,

This can be modelled with the source terms, you can look at what is done in subroutine difsou.f, there is an example and also a pre-progralled law, corresponding to LOITRAC=1.

With best regards,

Thank you Chris. However I noticed that this example don't make use of subroutine difsou.f.

Yes but it use the default version of this subroutine where the type of law (=1) has been implemented.
As I know, the chlorine decay is a complex process.
So you should first fix the law of decay and then use this subroutine to program this law (eventually you need to add some other parameters...)

Hope this helps
