Hello to all,

I´m trying to create a "sections input file" but instead of using the node numbers I´m trying to use the node number I want to use coordinates. In the manual there is only a example using the node numbers.

My question is how should I separate the coordinates in the imput file. I´ve tried to use everything, from commas, space, semi-commas and the Telemac still doesn´t reconigze it.

I´ve attached my file so you guys can take a look.

There is no attachment in your post!
Just be sure that your are using POSITIVE interger at the second line of the sections input file.

For example, you should write:

# Control sections definition
3 1 # there are 3 sections, given by coordinates
section_name1
890. 700.
section_name2
11152. 2514.
section_name3
2215. 1124.

You are right, I´ve must forgotten the attachment, let me try again.

Yes, I´ve read in the manual about the positive integer but I have one question about your example. Isn´t a section definened by two points? So don´t I need to use 4 coodinates (two for each point) to define the section?

I can not see any problem in your file. What kind of error message you have?
Is it possible de send us your case?
An important information, when you give coordinates at your control section file, Telemac looks for the nearest node to the starting and arriving points that you have introduced.

I can't check the problem without the complete model (geo, cli etc.)
Just a recommandation, do not use folder names that contain spaces( RESERVATORIO INTERMEDIARIO) This could generate problems. Instead use attached names RESERVATORIO_INTERMEDIARIO for example.

The SLF file of that problem was way too big to be attached so I´m sending you another one (smaller) with the same erro.

You need to change the second line like
2 0
instead of
2 1

There is a wrong sentence in the user manual which recommend to use "positive integer" to use coordinates for cross sections.
Actually you need absolutely to put 0 and not a positive integer.

Therefore, your control sections file becomes :

UPSTREAM
