Hi all,
I am puzzled by Telemac's ability to read my input files, and hope someone can please help...

Two issues have arisen:
1. I have examples of what I believe are two identical breach data files, but only one can be read properly by Telemac. Can anyone advise on the difference?
Files 'breach2.*' represent the case where the data file is NOT read correctly. Using debugger, Telemac starts running lecbreach but does not finish;
Files 'breach2b.*' represent the case where the data file is read correctly.

2. In case 2B where Telemac does read in the breach data file correctly, it does not read in my geometry file correctly. All elevations are set to zero. I cannot see anything wrong with my SLF file. Can anyone please advise what I am missing?

Regards,
Derek.

Hi derek

There is a problem with the name! so it's a little bit hard to know which file is for the case é and which ones are for the case 2b.
moreover, boundary condition file is missing and there is one selafin file (hb2f21.slf) which seems to be corrupted.

maybe could you try to make a zip of each case?

regards
Christophe

sorry about that. I didn't notice the file names were changed when attached to the message board.

I've zipped the two cases separate. The common Bathymetry and Boundary files are in the ZIP file for 'breach2'.

Hi Derek

First of all, it seems you have a problem with your geometry file (I think the variable bottom is not recognize by telemac.
I just rename it correctly with BK and both simulations run

File Attachment:

File Name: h82c1851.slf
File Size: 17 KB

Then, only the case breach2 works well, the case breach2b doesn't work because the breach is not well define (abscissae given in the breach file are outside of the mesh)

The result of case breach2 where we could see the bottom evolution between the 2 first time step.

File Attachment:

File Name: h7b5ca5b.slf
File Size: 226 KB

Hope this helps
Christophe

Christophe,
Thank you for the reply. I am sorry about not catching the difference in my Breach files.

However, I do not understand the problem you've identified with my bathymetry. I tried running the bathymetry file you provided, with no luck.

I've provided a copy of the script from Telemac2D when it is executed.

Regards,
d.

Very strange as i works perfectly on my side. The only difference is in the telemac script (compilation and execution) because I use Python.

In your output, there is no message "BACK FROM LECBREACH" so i just could advise you to put lecbreach in a fortran file in your project and check where the problem comes from...

Sorry but I can't help you more than this

Regards
Christophe
