open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello,

I know Telemac has many ways of initializing the calculation. And if I remember correctly, one of them is adding other variables, such as WATER DEPTH, VELOCITY, into the geometry file. But I tried and it doesn't work. So I guess the program doesn't read other variables in the geometry file automatically.

Any one know how to use this way to initialize the model?

Hello,

You can use the CONTINUATION FILE (instead of the GEOMETRY file) and put your hydrodynamic variables in there.

But in my model Telemac is coupled with Sisyphe and I only want to initialize the flow field. Can I only use the CONTINUATION FILE for hydrodynamics?

Yes I believe you can do it -- but I am not a SISYPHE expert -- You can try anyway with 0 iterations and see what has been used for the initialisation.
