Hello Thierry

When you give coordinates, your 2 first lines must read like
# Control sections definition
4 0 # there are 4 sections, given by coordinates
section_name1
x11 y11 x12 y12 # for section 1: xy of point 1 and xy of point 2
.
.
.
section_name4
x41 y41 x42 y42 # for section 4: xy of point 1 and xy of point 2

Coordinates have not to be exactly those of mesh nodes, Telemac looks for the nearest nodes and therefore there is no constraint for the number of decimals.

With my best regards and merry christmas with your nice canadian maple leaves ;)

Thank you for these details

The reason I asked was that sources, now, have to be exactly on the node. So I thought it could be the same thing for section ends, and that this may be the cause of my problem with the section.
Also if I put +1 as the second number in the second line, (as per the user manual), telemac asks for integers when my coordiantes are real .

Christophe

I did try to run partel. I found three versions in the 6p3 directory (partel, partel_para and partel_prelim). None of them ask which file I want to split.

I then tried the partel from V6p0\parallel\parallel_v6p0\win and it seems to work, asking all the questions you mentioned. Attached is the T2DSEC00003-00002 file (with 4 subdomain and 29 flow sections) showing the intermediate nodes between the two end nodes.

We are getting somewhere. How can I use this partel in v6.3?
Thank you
Thierry

Hi Christophe

So knowing that the partel from V6p0 was dividing the section file T2DSEC properly, I tried to replace the partel.exe (in V6p3) by this partel.exe found in V6p0, and it still did not work: all the T2DSEC00002-00002 are empty.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Thierry

First of all, best wishes for 2014!

Could you share the files partel.log and partel.par?
Maybe it help us to understand your problem...

Regards
Christophe

Hi Christophe
Happy new year to you too, Hope it won't be in Europe as cold as here!

Here are the log files. I have 29 flow sections with 4 subdomains.
Note that the file PE00003-00000.LOG is missing.
All 4 files T2DSEC00003-00001 are empty

Hi Thierry.
We've got a beautiful sunshine here with nice temperature for january (12° today).

About your problem I think I found the problem, but I'm not totally sure.
It seems to me that the python script which manage the telemac run (runcode.py) forgot to take care of the section file in case of a parallel run!

I will investigate this point. I've seen a test case with sections in order to test this on my computer

Hi Christophe

Have you, or anybody else, had a chance to look at runcode.py, for the section flow calculation in parallel?

Cheers
Thierry

Hello,

We have been also reported another such problem, so far we know that the combination Linux+Perl works and the combination Windows+Python does not work, we (in fact Yugi...) hope to solve this problem soon.
