Hello,

I'm trying to modify the subroutine CORSTR in Telemac-2D in order to implement the a new friction law. I'm now facing a problem which is that I need to use shear velocity to calculate the Chezy coefficient inside CORSTR but I don't find it in declarations.

I think CF can be converted into shear velocity but I can only get CF after I calculate Chezy coefficient.

So I'm wondering is shear velocity preserved during the computation and can it be used from other subroutines as a global variable in Telemac-2D?

Kind regards,
Qilong

Hello Qilong,

And thank you for your greatings card! Best wishes to you!

Yes, the friction velocity in Telemac-2D is only a by-product and has no specific array. You can find how it is computed in preres_telemac2d.f as T7%R, as a function of CF, U and V.
