open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Have just installed, compiled and run the new v6p3r2 and I have an error upon completion prior to the recollection and merge of files.

The run completes normally but then there is a read error in gretel_autop.f when reading THE VALUE FOR NPROC (at line 160).

The error message from the output is:

Fortran runtime error: End of file
... The following command failed for the reason above
/gpfs/env/e088/opentelemac_mascaret/v6p3r2/builds/linux_ompi_gfort/bin/gretel_autop < gretel_T2DRES.par >> gretel_T2DRES.log

It also seems that the values for GLOBAL GEOMETRY FILE, RESULTS FILE which are printed in gretel_T2DRES.log don't have values. These basic parameters are not being passed so the recollection can continue.

I wondered if anyone has seen this problem and has any suggestions how to fix. Appreciate any comments.

Hi,

Maybe it is irrelevant, but I once had a similar problem with Tomawac, when gretel was trying to merge files that were empty (zero file size). Of course the error originated in my cas file.

These are not empty unfortunately - the model ran as would have been expected and I have a complete set of domain decomposed results files in the working directory.

It just seems that gretel can't read the data basic data it needs to reconstruct them.

Do you possibly know how I can find out what fortran unit 5 is? That is the read unit holding the NPROC data which is not being read?

Hi John,

LI is described as "FORTRAN STANDARD INPUT CHANNEL". I don't think it is a file. Maybe other members can give you more insight.

If I were you, I would double check the setup of my model. Geometry mesh quality, boundary conditions etc.

Yes - that makes sense - from the "stdin" message.

The model has been run many times on the earlier versions (including v6p1, v6p2 v6p3) and just this new install v6p3r2 is giving trouble, but there must be something wrong with the setup.

I will report back if and when I can find it.
