Hi,

I have an issue with my liquid boundaries.

When I specify the velocity profile it seems like TELEMAC doesn’t take account of it. In fact, in the boundary conditions file, I specify the velocity profiles (UBOR and VBOR). But, when I visualize the VELOCITY UV layer, the velocity vectors, in each node, are either in agreement with the prescribed velocity profile or they are deleted! Consequently, the discharge is no longer distributed along the whole inlet segment, but only on few nodes.
The same problem is encountered even when I modify the velocity profile using the BORD subroutine.

I attached some screen caps of the velocity field of the simulation at different time steps.

Hello,

The velocities are cancelled when there is no water, could this be an explanation ?

It could be the explanation but I’m not sure.

The flowrate is already given in the steering file. Isn’t TELEMAC supposed to multiply the UBOR and VBOR values by a constant in order to satisfy the prescribed flowrate? Thus, since all inlet nodes are configured the same way, in what condition there will be no water at just certain nodes?

It would depend on your initial conditions and on the bottom topography, anyway this can be easily checked. Basically you are right, UBOR and VBOR are multiplied by a constant, if they are not cancelled before due to a dry zone.
