Hi there,

I have modelised a breach. Unfortunately, my simulation wasn't long enough. Can I do a hot start, or will the topography under the breach will be at original elevation at t=o?

Thanks!

Hello,

of course you can -- look in the manual for CONTINUATION FILE and use your existing result as a starting point.

Hope this helps,
Sébastien.

OK.

I previously though only "hydraulic" variables were used in a hot start, such as U, V, H, etc. I understand Zbottom is also used.

Hence, if I continue a computation, I don't need to provide a .geo in the steering file?

Yes -- you still need a geo file (as it could contain other information and it is being used to allocate memory for X,Y,IKLE etc.). By default, TELEMAC sets the BOTTOM value to the value in the geo file. However, if BOTTOM is also in your result file, then TELEMAC will use that one, and forget about the value in your geo file.

Hope this is clearer.
Sébastien.
