open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi all,

I'm running TELEMAC linux on a Mac. After successfully completing the examples I know tried to run a basic hydrodynamic model of partly the English Channel and Solent for my Masterthesis. But I get stuck quite early. I got a .cas file which I modified to use the TOPEX tidal forcing, created the geometry in BK as well as the boundary file.
If I try to run it I get the message:

runCAS:
|processLIT: file does not exist: ‘

Does anyone has an idea what I'm missing? Obviously something is missing. I attach a screenshot of my terminal as well as my steeringfile. If someone already faced this problem I would be really keen getting to know what I'm supposed to do.

Hello,

I think it may be that the first single quote in front of the file name for

BINARY DATABASE 1 FOR TIDE = ‘

is not correct. It looks like an execution single quote rather than a string single quote.

Try correcting and let us know.

yeah that was right, didn't thought though it would be that sensitive. I run now in a new error something saying about wrong mesh. I'll try to solve this by searching in the manual, but if I don't get ahead, can I come back to you and post it here or should I open a new thread?

Hi again,

I checked my mesh in BK and also the boundary, but that is allright. Because the error appears when I try to run T2D, I decided to attache this to this thread. However, it seems that the error "STOSEG:" is the problem but I couldn't find any information to it in neither the user manual nor the reference guide. I already checked my steering file regarding the definition of the geographic coordinate system but again, this seems ok.
I attached a screenshot of my terminal again.
If anyone has an idea, help would be much appreciated.

(I think you may have one one node (at least that connects to 4 neighboring segments).

attached you can find the mesh. Where do you read this from in the error message? Does a manual exist which guides the user to probable problems in case of different error messages? I really want to learn this, but it seems to me this comes only by experience?

don't bother about my mesh. I already found the problem and solved the error. But if you have some kind of manual for different error sources or if you could recommend a way how to learn the errors, that would be very much appreciated.
