Cheers Maxime,
I do have the java script already. But I prefered to work on the files manually because it seems to be quite unstable. Therefore I'm not really sure how to use it, but I reckon after spending some time it'll work out.

Hello,

Anyway thanks for the files, I can reproduce the error, which happens in subroutine elebd, so I'll try now to issue a clear message explaining what happens... this will be for the next version.

Note that with my configuration here some lines in your steering file are too long.

With best regards,

Jean-Michel Hervouet

Thank You Jean-Michel,

two weeks ago I had another problem which I couldn't solve on my own without any additional help. I mean I'm a quite a new user to TELEMAC and therefore still unexperienced, but if possible any kind of resource for trouble shooting would be amazing. For instance the utility Clemens mentioned (stbtel) would be quite helpful to check if the mesh is of good quality.

Kind regards,
Tim

Hello,

if you compile the whole Telemac system then STBTEL should be installed as well.
You can run stbtel like Telemac, e.g.
python C:\OpenTelemac\v6p3r2\scripts\python27\runcode.py stbtel -c your-configuration-file-name C:\....\stbtel_test\stb.cas
An own batch script will be convenient.

stb.cas is the steering file e.g. for your case

MESH GENERATOR = SELAFIN

UNIVERSAL FILE = 'EC_1.5_3.slf'

GEOMETRY FILE FOR TELEMAC = 'EC_1.5_3_out.slf'
___________________________

Note that stbtel has some nice mesh processing features, see the dictionary file.
The listing printout gives you the coordinates of the problem node, whereas Fudaa-prepro gives you the node number.
By the way, mesh quality is another issue, stbtel used for such tasks can indicate possible errors only.

Best regards,
Clemens

Regarding the mesh quality, that's what I understood and mean in terms of the stbtel utility. But I mean when you know where your mesh is problematic that's a big help in terms of improving the mesh.

Thank you for your help. I'll try and see if I can get it work.

Cheers, Tim

I got it working. That is really helpful, especially when being new to TELEMAC without the experience what in terms of mesh is accepted by TELEMAC and what not.
Thank you for that hint!

Hello,

In fact the first error in the mesh was that the geometry file announced 3361 boundary points, while the boundary conditions file had 3362 lines. In the next release there will be a message suggesting this mistake.

JMH
