I have successfully ran my model with a control sections. The flow through the control section correctly appears in the listing printout while the simulation is running. However, I am unable to locate the sections output file. It is not in the working directory of the simulation. Case is attached for reference.

Why is the sections output file missing from the simulation working directory?

Simon

Hello,

You could check if you have a file called T2DSEO in this working directory, in which case it would be the scripts that for some reason do not copy it back.

The file T2DSEO is indeed in the working directory, but the file is empty. I assume the flow rates should be written to this file?

I am wondering if this problem is related to another unresolved issue. The issue is that each processor speaks to the listing, so for each listing period I get 8 (number of cpus) reports rather than 1. I posted this question in another thread located here: www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/16-...rs-in-printout#14249

Your help is much appreciated,
Simon

The control section output work when I run in serial! I have no idea why it did not work in parallel, but since the model runs faster in serial anyways I will continue to run in serial. Strange.

Hello,

It seems to me that the control sections files problem was due to Python scripts and was corrected (or will be in next version, not sure, who can tell us ?). The other problem is probably twofold : it could be that all the sub-domains are treated by a single processor (problem 1, of parallelism configuration) and that the logical unit LU is not redirected to the log files (problem 2, no idea where it stems from, first time we get this).

Is there a way to visually check how the domain was subdivided among processors? The domain is very long and has an 'S' shape.

Thanks,

Hello,

Every sub-domain file starting with T2DGEO... is a part of the domain and can be visualised by a post processor, then if the post-processor can do it you can superimpose all sub-domains with different colours.

I have plotted the subdomain of each processor and colored them respectively. Image is attached. Two subdomains have unconnected regions, is this a problem for T2D?

Thanks,

-Simon

Hello,

Yes, it is known that Metis can do that and it is not a problem for Telemac.
